The Next Chapter in Community Preparedness

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Preparedness, whether for any emergency event, is a community-wide proposition.  As a society we have place too great a burden on the emergency responder community to provide immediate response and rescue.  As a result, success or failure is measured in the glaring light of 20/20 hindsight.  To correct this problem we need to place greater preparedness responsibility on the community as a whole and to facilitate that transition we need greater transparency on capability gaps.  This also leads to a better to approach to measuring success - an approach that involves the entire community.
